But back to present…Ryan’s is graduating from Kaneland this year and so we had his senior session at the same place we did Cailin’s.  1st time shooting a guy at the park but found a lot of different areas to shoot that weren’t all girly with flowers.  A very fun session!

Mia ’11

Published by Jan under senior,teen

Mia’s session was held at Mount St. Mary’s Park in St. Charles. Although it was one of the hottest days of the spring (the car temp was at 93 degrees when I was driving the the park), Mia was a cool as a cucumber. I don’t think she even looks a little bit hot in any of these! And some trivia to get to know her better:

Fav class or teacher in HS. Why?
Ms. Bradley- Criminal Law. So interesting, great teacher.

What are your after graduation plans? (college & major, work etc.)
Already graduated- going to ISU in August for nursing.

And then a couple “would your rather” just becasue they are fun!
Would you rather:

never use the internet again
X never watch TV again
Would you rather
X never play

always lose
Would you rather
X get caught singing in the car

get caught with your fly unzipped
Would you rather
X be able to read everyone’s mind

always know the future

And then some of my favorites from her session!  Enjoy!

And everyone knows you have to kiss a few frogs before you meet your prince…..

{sneak peek – Aaron}

Published by Jan under senior,teen

It was an honor to finally get to do Aaron’s senior session.  I have been using his parents property (Muirhead’s Farmhouse) for senior and family portraits for over 2 years.  It is my favorite place to use!  So it was a lot of fun to do Aaron’s session because we used his favorite tree that he climbed when he was little, and all the buildings that he knows all the ins and outs of.

Aaron is heavily involved in the music and arts department at high school.  He is in the marching and concert bands where he plays sax and is a section leader.  He is the lighting designer for the high school musical “West Side Story” which is playing this weekend!  Hope it is going well Aaron!

He is planning on going to college, possibly Illinois Institute of Technology and studying Computer Hardware design and installation.  Best of luck Aaron!

{sneak peek – Brent}

Published by Jan under senior,teen

Sometimes PLAN B works better than PLAN A!  That’s what happened for Brent’s session.  We started his session at his home and were planning on going into St. Charles to a local park to finish it.  When we were half way to St. Charles it started raining and his mom suggested turning around and heading north to Sun City in Huntley (where I photographed Brent’s older sister 2 years ago!) because it looked brighter that way.  It was an EXCELLENT suggestion because the colors at Sun City were at their peak and the rain held off for us.

His mom’s favorite shagbark tree in their yard.

Brent climbing his favorite tree.  He used to climb this tree ALL THE TIME when he was younger!

The beautiful colors at Sun City!

Brent is planning on becoming an English teacher so we had to include a teacher’s favorite present – an apple!

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek Brent!  Your full gallery will be online soon.

{sneak peek – Kevin}

Published by Jan under senior,teen

Kevin’s session was held at Muirhead Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast and at the high school football field.  The football field was locked up but luckily the x-country team had just gotten back from a meet and the coach was able to unlock the gates so we could get some football pictures in the stands and by the field.

Kevin had lots of ideas for pictures and we used his car, his football gear and even his mom in the pictures!  Hope you like your sneak peek Kevin – you full gallery will be up in a day or two!

{sneak peek – Ashley}

Published by Jan under senior,teen

Ashley’s session was held at Sun City in Huntley and the softball fields at the high school.  It was a balmy 57degrees when the session started.  Yes you read that right 57 degrees. In August.  Luckily her mom is very organized and brought a fleece blanket to wrap her up in between shots and locations!

Ashley has a gorgeous smile, but even though it was hard for her at first to give me a serious look (she kept cracking up laughing!) – I love her intense look!  Ashley is a great 3rd baseman on the third place state champion team and is looking forward to this season.  So we definitely had to shoot some with her uniform and equipment.  Ashley doesn’t know where she is going to college, but she hopes softball is involved, possibly Western.  Enjoy your senior year Ashley!

{Sam – 2010}

Published by Jan under senior,teen

Wow – feels wierd to be typing “2010″ but that what time of year it is.  This years seniors – 2010.  I LOVE senior sessions and this was no exception.

Sam is a Huntley High School senior.  Her mom and my youngest sister were best friends growing up.  I’ve lost touch with her mom (probably haven’t seen her in 15 years!) so it was a lot of fun seeing her again.  Her grandma came to the session also since she was best friends with my mom!  So even before the shooting started I had a lot of catching up to do.  And I know that there isn’t a senior on the face of this earth that wants to hear they look like their mom, but since I hadn’t seen Sam’s mom since she was in high school I thought the resemblance was uncany!

Sam & her sister (the fashion and pose police lol!) were a riot.  Her session started in their backyard and then we went to Sun City also.  Sam is really into the arts – all kinds – drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, you name it!  Good luck this year Sam and hope you love your pictures!

The “B” Family Sneak Peek

Published by Jan under family,teen

I had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful family before Brittnee heads back to college and Ashlyn starts college this fall. I did Ashlyn’s senior pictures last fall so this was a time to reconnect and hear about how all her plans are finalizing for studing equine therapy and massage in West Virginia.
The session was held in thier spacious backyard and the 2 yellow labs provided all the entertainment for the evening. Whenever we wanted them in shots they weren’t interested and when we didn’t want them in the shot we couldn’t get them out of the way!!! They are so cute and so full of energy! Hallie – you have a gorgeous family and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

{sneak peek – Alex}

Published by Jan under teen

Alex was my first session for the new year.  He is a freshman in high school and is looking to build his portfolio for modeling.  His session was my first studio session set up in my home.  He had a lot of different outfit changes for different looks.  Alex loves hockey and plays on the club circuit so we incorporated the hockey pads & uniform into the shoot also.  Your full session will be online in a day or 2!
