Evan ’10

Published by Jan under senior

I love repeat customers! I did Evan’s older sister Megan 2 years ago. It was great reconnecting with his mom and hearing about what Megan is up to and getting to know Evan.

Evan’s session started at a never-opened winery west of Elburn. They have a gorgeous building, with cool walls, steps, and even wine barrels in the back of the building. We then headed further west to my favorite old abandoned barn.

Evan is a senior at Kaneland High School where he is also employed in the information technology department. It is his job to help the computer-challenged teachers keep all the computer hardware & software working properly together. He is planning on attending Waubonsee Community College to study computer technology and continue working for the school district. Enjoy prom this weekend Evan and your full gallery will be up soon!

Dan ’10

Published by Jan under senior

Dan is a very involved high school senior at Burlington Central. He is a member of the varsity football team, marching & concert band (where he is member of the percussion team), Men of Note and Choral group, and numerous other organizations including being named Mr. CHS in a talent/showcase in early spring! He is planning on going to Illinois State University in the fall to study education/business.

Dan’s session started at Nick’s Pizza & Pub where he has worked for over a year and a half! They had gorgeous brick walls and an outdoor garden/seating area that we utilized for pictures. We then headed to Muirhead’s Bed & Breakfast to use the grounds to photograph Dan with his very special car, tuxedo (that is a part of the uniform that he performs as part of the choral group) and then some fun-loving pictures with his cap & gown!

Enjoy the rest of your senior year Dan and good luck being a redbird next fall!

They say she throws like a girl…

Published by Jan under pet,senior

and that is one of the best compliments you can give Jet. She is the starting pitcher on the varsity girls softball team that was 3rd in state last year. She is planning on continuing her softball career next year at Central Methodist University in Missouri on a softball scholarship. She is planning on studying pre-med/biology.

Jet’s session started at her home in rural Burlington in her gorgeous backyard forest. Her dog Brandy and Roo were in the pictures as well as her brother & parents. Since prom is next week she put her prom dress on (with the beautiful necklace and earings from her grandmother!) and trekked out back. Hope you have a wonderful time at prom Jet – you will look beautiful!

Katie ’10

Published by Jan under family,senior

Over the river and thru the woods… No, we went over the prairie and thru the creek to get to Katie’s secret garden. It is a beautiful, secluded area behind their property where she likes to go for her quiet time and also to create – painting and using other media like colored pencils.

We then went to Muirhead’s Bed and Breakfast where the grounds were gorgeous! The magnolia trees were blooming…

and even the field of weeds that looked so pretty in the fall still had a lot of color left

And then my favorite old truck – Katie even climbed inside of it!!!!

Katie’s brother, Jake, was home from college so we had to get a few pictures with the whole family – including Sophie & Nala.

Katie is planning on studying Internation Missions at Wheaton College or possibly Moody Bible Institue-Spokane.  Good luck Katie – you will be a blessed wherever you study!

Soon-to-be-published author with an amazing story

Published by Jan under family

I had the honor of photographing Kim in anticipation of the publication of her new book! She is a beautiful woman with an amazing story to tell. She needed some pictures for her new website www.breathinginashes.com (soon to go live!) to promote/sell copies of her book. Her story is not a story just of loss – but of hope, strength and courage in the darkest of days that any parent can imagine.

Kim – you are in my prayers and thoughts as your story comes into print. You will never know in this world the many, many lives you have touched.

Thank you!

Senior Night

Published by Jan under senior

I love high school athletics and LOVE when I get to be a part of the athletic program’s senior night. It is such a nostalgic evening for the athletes and parents alike. After years of playing (or dancing) a sport, the night that you play (perform) your last home game brings many emotions. It was an honor to be able to photograph the seniors on the varsity basketball team and the pom squad and have their collages that I designed on display for all to see that attended the basketball game and then to know that they will be proudly displayed in their home!

Here are some of the individual pictures and a couple of the collages that were displayed! WAY TO GO SENIORS!

Reagan – girly, girl newborn

Published by Jan under newborn

I had the pleasure of photographing Reagan at 5 weeks of age. She is simple a beautiful, beautiful baby. She was a joy to work with also! She let her mom and me fuss with all things girly – headbands with flowers and bows, frilly diaper covers with bling and all! Of course we had to get some of her big brother, Jacob, who dotes on his little sister. He is the best big brother ever!
